2011 | Thank you | JayLee M.O.

“Winter, a lingering season, is a time to gather golden moments, embark upon a sentimental journey, and enjoy every idle hour. ”

As 2011 comes to a close, we wanted to say thank you to everyone we have worked with. A lot of photographers post their favorite work at the end of the year, but we would rather take the time to say thank you to you, our awesome “clients”, vendor-friends, and readers. We are a newly married couple working together at this little dream that is still in it’s early stages, as far as small businesses go. Though we are not yet where we want to be, we have made huge steps and can’t wait to grow even more. Most importantly, we really enjoy what we are doing. The truth is, making a job out of something you enjoy doing can, in itself, take the joy away from that thing. With our client base finding out more about who we are in this past year, and moving forward into next year, we are thrilled to know this dream of ours will keep the same joy it started with.

Carving out a place for our business in the photo-world, wedding-world, or just the small corner of our own little world isn’t easy, but keeping at it is worth it. We love to take photos for our own personal and artistic enjoyment, yes; but, what makes this all possible are those clients who get us, who click, who feel a connection to us and our photos, and who allow us to get to know them…and we will never stop being thankful when they find us. It is our goal to offer a service that captures your memories in a way that is true to who you are, and to run a small business that encourages others to be themselves without judgement. We believe in following your dreams, as we are trying to do. We believe love makes the world a better place, long-lasting marriages can exist, and marriage equality is worth fighting for.

Just as we will always maintain that the marriage matters more than the wedding, we put our relationship first in our lives, and we aim to put our clients and integrity first in our business. Every year has ups and downs, and every small business that truly wants to succeed takes those ups and downs as learning opportunities. Just as we are not the right fit for every client, not every client is right for us and that is okay; we always aim to honestly portray who we are, what we believe in, and how we take photos to uphold our own values and so you can make an educated decision. We work to live, we create because it’s who we are, and we pour (more of) ourselves (than we should) into this venture because we believe in it. We believe photos have value: they are lasting memories and treasured keepsakes.

So, here is looking forward to the wonderful weddings and marriages of 2012. We wish a beautiful new year to all of the couples, families and amazing individuals we have worked with and will work with. Thank you for supporting small businesses, and for getting to know the JayLee family. YOU bring the awesome… and we love to take pictures of it. //Josh + Ali + Rufus the dog
