Kate + Erich | Arizona Engagement
Generally, Seattle is a photographer's dream. The lovely grey sky, the backgrounds all lush and green. We have mountains, water, urban settings. But I will say, on this particular trip to Arizona, we hit the jackpot on light. Rather than that tricky harsh AZ sunlight, it was overcast with amazing diffused light, and the desert setting was a refreshing change of landscape to shoot in. On top of that, these two were so fun and full of energy! Kate and Erich were very familiar with the trail, so we enjoyed the weather and trekked up to where they celebrated their engagement. Relaxed sessions like this one are always my favorite. We chit-chatted about their wedding, travel, our families, their love story. I "ooed-and-ahhed" over their adorable pup who reminded me so much of my own little Roo.
We've worked with a lot of couples, but the chemistry and ease and giddiness between these guys was just unreal. I kind of hate writing captions sometimes because I just want to end with, "I mean, just go look at the pictures! Look at 'em!" They were all smiles, cuddles, and genuine open-mouth laughter. This is what honest-to-goodness true love looks like, folks. We are so looking forward to their Prescott wedding!!

Katy + John | Seattle Engagement
They bonded over their love of architecture and landscape architecture. After John proposed to Katy, an eagle snatched a crab from the water near the Quinalt Rain Forest as they sat on a log together...and it definitely felt like a good sign. And on Saturday, they will be saying "I Do" and sharing their love of the PNW with family and friends. We can't wait! //Josh+Ali
