Yes, lovely readers, sometimes we do in fact photograph things that are not wedding-related. This lovely little family just got started and wanted to get those first Christmas cards out, so we jumped at the chance to hang out at their awesome house and catch some shots of them in their element.
We then cruelly bundled everyone up and took a rainy stroll to the neighborhood park for a couple outdoor photos, and wrapped up the day singing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and cooing at those sock monkey feet.
**Editor's Note: This is one of two babies whose Christmas outfits bore a striking resemblance to the one Ali picked out for Josh for their Christmas Cards. A fact worth noting. //Josh+Ali
It's not often that we offer promotions, but mini-sessions are an excellent, affordable way to capture your family portrait during the holidays! Unlike our lifestyle sessions, mini-sessions are shorter and focus more on capturing "traditional portraits" of your family during your hour shoot-time so that you have a few photos to use for holiday cards, gifts, or to frame in your home. Though these are more traditional, they are still JayLee style: fun, laid-back, and true to who your family is! Better than ___ Portrait Studio! ;)
We, ourselves, try to get a new picture taken every December (we will post ours in the next few weeks) to document each year together, so we highly recommend it. These book fast so email us to set up a time! We hope you are looking forward to this holiday season as much as we are!//Team JayLee
We have had the great pleasure of working with Kacie and Mike on their engagement, wedding, and their maternity session. This is the best part of being a photographer- being able to document a family as it grows.
What I loved most about this shoot is that Kacie’s sister was also pregnant when these photos were taken, and their Mother stopped by as well. So, naturally I had to get some photos of them, too! Some of my favorite maternity images I’ve ever taken are the black and white frame series, below. Congrats to Kacie and Mike! //Ali Read more…
We are major West Seattleites through-and-through, so it’s always awesome when we get to photograph families in the area (check out their “bars we did” chalk board, below!). To us, when it comes to family photography– the more natural, the better. We had a blast spending time with the Logans at their home, watching their adorable twins interact. Not to mention, photographing babies is so.much.fun! We especially loved the music-themed nursery, with a hand-painted Where the Wild Things Are-inspired mural that they created themselves and “non-baby” decor such as ticket stubs from concerts they’ve been to during their marriage. This is what it’s all about…capturing the essence of a family in their natural environment. You can see more family images here. //Josh+Ali Read more…
The plan is tried and true: Go to Arizona for a weekend and make some awesome photos with some awesome people. This session was absolutely no exception.
This little family let me tag along for a day of playtime, seeing the grandparents and hanging around the park, all on a perfectly warm and sunny Phoenix afternoon. From the adorable attitudes of the little ladies to the sweet doting on them by cooing grandparents, we were all smiles the entire time.
Got to hang out with this awesome little family while we were in Phoenix this weekend. Sooooo much more goodness to come, so stay tuned!
