Julia | Bridals

Julia decided to do a bridal session instead of engagement photos. We usually do some bridal portraits the day of the wedding, but for those who want more images in a variety of settings, doing a bridal session is a great option. We also thought it was such a great idea to use the hair and makeup trial for bridals! We love how these turned out… Julia was a truly stunning bride. More soon… //Josh + Alibridals seattle, bridal photography seattle, beautiful bridals, volunteer park photography, seattle wedding photographers, bridal portraits seattle

Alexis | Portraits

Alexis is a stunning young aspiring model who contacted us for a shoot, and I’m so glad she did. I let her know the style and direction I wanted to go in and she was so easy to work with on it!

I am not one of those people who go around saying “you look like so-and-so, that one actress”, but this girl is such a Mandy Moore look-alike at certain angles (check out the 14th picture down), and wow did she shoot well. We are particularly fond of the beach shots…let us know your favorites! //Aliurban outfitters style photo shoot, young portraits, senior portraits seattle, unique seattle portraits seattle, lookbook photographer seattle, look book photographer seattle, black and white portrait, model portraits seattle, urban model portraits seattle, beautiful photography seattle, wedding photographer seattle

Ryan | Headshot Lifestyle Session

Ryan is an actor in Seattle, and overall just an awesome guy. He was looking for some new headshot photos, and there just so happened to be a great location in the area we had been wanting to try out. It was a very, very, soggy rainy day and he was a really good sport. Here are a few of our favorite shots from the session (we loved the range of emotion he showed on his face throughout the shoot). Be sure to check out Ryan in his next show, The Full Monty! //Josh

Breanne+Chris | Portland Engagement Photographer

Breanne and Chris have had our attention from the second they first wrote us. A 3-day family reunion in Mormon Lake, AZ culminating with their marriage celebration? Yeah. We’re there. Don’t have to ask us twice. When we had our Skype meeting with them they said something so moving we knew this was the perfect fit:

“yeah, the wedding is going to be an awesome day, but we’ve already had awesome days together and we’ll have awesome days after the wedding….”

And that is the heart of what we do. We love photographing the day you make your vows to each other. We love documenting the culmination of your plannings and families smashing together. But the absolute highest priority in our photos is catching the moment you swear to commit your lives to each other and the moment that “officially” starts. It’s like these two dug deep into our heartstrings and snatched us up.

So, while on a Christmas vacation to Portland we took a detour to Colton, OR and snapped these crazy kids on Breanne’s family’s Christmas Tree farm. A Christmas Tree Farm!?!?!? Get. Out. Of. HERE!!!!!

So here is the beautiful collision of their obvious lovin’ and the awesomeness of the Oregon countryside. Hope it rawks your sock as much as it did ours.

Rainbow Birthday Party | Two Frames

Someone recently asked us, “What else do you shoot besides weddings?” Well, we will get into that answer a little bit more tomorrow, but to start with here is a sneak peak of a pretty rad birthday party Josh recently photographed (styled by the owner of adorable children’s handmade toy store, Schnitzel  & Boo).

This colorful post also comes with great timing to say happy birthday to my sister, Jerri, who turns 23 today! She is an amazing teacher, great friend, and one of the most down-to-earth people I know. I love you Kiki!

We are in the thick of editing some awesome projects, so be sure to keep checking back on the blog. //Ali + Josh

The Keller Family | Holiday Cheer | Part 1

It’s that time in January where most everyone has taken down their Christmas trees (sad), so we are inserting a little leftover holiday cheer into the blog today! Frankly, we love sessions like this one. We did take some lovely Christmas card photos, but we didn’t stop there! This was a true lifestyle shoot that included hanging out with the Keller family at their beautiful home, wandering off to a couple of cool locations (a barn, a field), incorporating cute props, and then baking some cookies. We really try to encourage clients to think outside the box and apply more personality to their photos, whether it be for a family shoot or engagement session. As you will see, Jenny has a natural eye for styling and happens to be a very talented baker, so hanging out at home and baking with her kids was a special activity to document. Putting a little thought into photos can make all the difference visually, but what really makes this session fantastic is how playful this family was and how willing they were to interact with one another. When you consider ideas for your lifestyle shoot, try to think of activities you enjoy with your spouse, fiancé, or family, and how you can make that a part of your shoot.

That said, we truly had a great day with the beautiful Keller family (and those kids really couldn’t get any cuter or sweeter). We were also fortunate to meet Scout (the dog) and the elves on the shelf (don’t you love them?). Thanks for the tasty cookies, inviting us into your home, and trusting us to not only take your holiday photos but also document some memories. Did we mention we loved the cookies? num.num.num.

Be sure to check back for Part II to see some pretty impressive cookie decorations. // Josh + Ali
