Treasure and Will have been some of our best friends for years now and have also been so kind to be models for us on more than one occasion. Naturally, we were crazy thrilled when they told us they'd finally decided to tie the knot, and doubly so when they asked Josh to officiate (!!!) the dang thing.
So Ali did most of the heavy lifting, Josh looked nice and suited up, and Treasure and Will were gorgeous and perfect and braved the late-October windiness for a perfectly sweet little celebration of their love. <3
Melissa+Jeff are so excellent together and put together an equally excellent wedding day. Tons and tons of DIY and a super-stylish wedding party were just the beginning, and we were pretty thrilled that the insane rain storm of the morning blew over just in time to get these awwwwwesome lake shots AND crazy sunshine during the ceremony.
After a cute, hometown engagement session that wrapped with beers and good hangs, we knew these guys were gonna throw an excellent wedding shindig. The rain cleared away just in time for the First Look right on the water, and the hits just kept coming from there.
Thanks for having us along, you guys. //A+S
Kayla and Jim are both beautiful, kind, and just plain FUN. It was maybe the most gorgeous day of the year with a lovely church ceremony, a quick ride on a trolley over to the local saloon (with all 21 members of the bridal party!), and the most stunning mountain views at TPC at Snoqualmie Ridge. The reception details were all handmade and it was truly a family affair with some of the most touching toasts we've ever heard. K+J, thank you for bringing us along for the ride (literally?).
Man, we're so in LOVE with small weddings + elopements. While the magic of an all-day production for a couple hundred guests is hard to top, being included in these tiny, intimate ceremonies is sooooo coooool. We've been two of ten guests and we've been the ACTUAL WITNESSES, and it's all so dang awesome. So Nina+Rory, obviously blinded by our enthusiasm for said ceremonies, had us along for their sweet mixing of family and friends at a rental home on Hood Canal. So much sweetness to speak of, but we're gonna let the pictures do the talkin'...
It’s pretty excellent to have a team of photographers that you feel like you can lean on. While we obviously use ‘em for the necessities (second shooting, back-ups in case of illness, etc) it’s such a sweet thing to have artists you can count on in even unprecedented situations. Cate+Joe’s date was the same as one Ali and I had already committed to, but they were such a lovely, hilarious couple we absolutely wanted to give them the full #TeamJayLee (yup, it’s a thing now) treatment. Enter Sean+Whitney (or #TeamShitney….also a thing) to save the day. They joined Cate and Joe at the gooooorgeous Diablo Lake in the North Cascades for the coolest camp-style wedding we’ve seen in years. The whole gang moseyed around the breathtaking lake snapping shots of C+J being all adorable and in love, and Ali and I are all kinds of jealous that we didn’t get to witness the whole shindig first hand.
Thanks, Cate+Joe, for trusting #TeamJayLee with your memories. You guys are the bee’s knees.
Stephanie and Joel may look slightly familiar for a few reasons. 1.) We photographed Michelle’s sister’s wedding in 2012. 2.) Stephanie and Joel attended Andrea and Bryan’s wedding the year after! So, when we had the pleasure of photographing Stephanie+Joel’s engagement and wedding, we were beyond thrilled because they already felt like old friends. Not only are these two as sweet as sweet can be, but BONUS— S+J’s wedding allowed us to bump into Michelle+James (and their baby!), and Andrea+Bryan! It was also great seeing so many familiar faces for family photos and witnessing Stephanie walking down the same church aisle as her sister. All of that said, Stephanie and Joel did a great job of adding so many special, personalized elements to their day. With vintage details, bridesmaid dresses made by a friend, and handmade games like Plinko and Jenga next to an ice cream truck for after dinner fun, it was such a perfect day. Maybe we’ll get lucky and see S+J at a few more weddings next year?!//Josh+Ali
